June 19, 2012 Regular Meeting HIghlights

Golden Guard Award

On June 1, 2012, Sunset Pool experienced its first independent lifeguard audit of the season and received the highest possible rating of 100% exceeds. During this audit, one of the Sunset Pool’s lifeguard’s Ms. Ann Russell achieved Golden Guard status, the highest honor that an individual lifeguard can attain. The Board of Commissioners recognized Ms. Russell for her outstanding accomplishment.

Lake Ellyn Study

The Board of Commissioners discussed additional items that need to be researched in the Lake Ellyn Study, as a result of the initial report and follow up meeting between the Village of Glen Ellyn and the Park District. Further discussion about related cost to the additional items along with the total charge for the original study ensued. The consensus was to move forward with the additional items and discuss with the Village the proposed cost along with the expenses already incurred.

Windy City Warriors – WDSRA

The Board of Commissioners recognized the Windy City Warriors wheelchair basketball team for their accomplishment of 7^th Illinois High School Association Wheelchair Basketball State Title, and placing 8^th nationally.

2011 Audit Report/Presentation

The Board received copies of the 2011 audit report and heard a presentation from the Park District auditors, Lauterbach and Amen.

Citizens’ Finance Committee Presentation

The Citizens' Finance Committee provided their preliminary report to the Board of Commissioners regarding their comparative analysis and implementation of a financial forecast.

Ordinance 12-02 Prevailing Wage

The Board of Commissioners approved Ordinance 12-02 Prevailing Wage.
